Two more people have been arrested related to a theft at London's Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be an irritant spray, according to police.
A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.
The arrests follow a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the incident, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a parking garage elevator.
A three-year-old girl was one of the injured during the incident. Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment and were later discharged.
Police arrested a man in his thirties on suspicion of robbery and assault near the location. He has since been released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.
Police were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several people hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be an irritant spray.
The assault - which police said was isolated and not being treated as terrorism - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the T3 car park briefly.
